Mental health and support links for families (via AYSO’s Well-Being Resources hub), plus a Region 76 Support Panel video on trauma, symptoms, grounding techniques, and positive coping (featuring local professionals), and a curated list of BHUSD wellness resources and counselor contacts—with a direct Region 76 contact for additional help.
AYSO has a list of resources on our Mental Health and Well-Being site found here: https://aysovolunteers.org/wellbeing-resources/, scroll down to the Resources for Families after Gun Violence header. These links have not only articles but conversation starters, organizations and phone numbers of places that can provide more assistance after a traumatic event.
Region 76 recently hosted a panel with support professionals to help inform our community about trauma and common symptons, how parents can talk to their kids about trauma and discussing grounding techniques and positive coping.
