FAQ

Which Division Should My Player Try Out For?

Use our Find My Division tool to confirm the correct division before selecting a tryout session. Players may play up to an older division in rare circumstances with approval from the Extra or Alliance Coordinator and Regional Commissioner. Players may not play down to a younger division.

What do the program logos mean? (Extra, Alliance, Transition)

AYSO Extra

This tryout is for a current AYSO Extra team. AYSO Extra is a competitive soccer program offered at the regional level for players wishing to take their game to a higher standard. Teams in the Extra program compete against other Regions throughout the Inland Empire and may also participate in tournaments across Southern California and neighboring states.

AYSO Alliance

This tryout is for an AYSO Alliance team. AYSO Alliance is club soccer - a competitive soccer program designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills and abilities and to enhance each player's experience and individual growth through the game of soccer while retaining the spirit and organization of AYSO. Teams in the Alliance program compete in club leagues in Southern California and both AYSO and open club tournaments.

Extra → Alliance Transition

This team is currently competing at the Extra level, but is in the process of transitioning to Alliance. Players selected from this tryout should expect that the team will likely compete at the Alliance level next season, once the transition is finalized. These teams would have performed very well in a top Extra flight before being approved to transition to Alliance.
