FAQ
Which Division should my player try out for?
Use our Find My Division tool to confirm the correct division before selecting a tryout session. In very rare cases, a player may be invited to play up to an older division with approval from the Extra or Alliance Coordinator and the Regional Commissioner. Players may not play down to a younger division. All players must try out in their natural division unless they have been formally invited to play up by an authorized individual. Families may not request that a player play up.
What do the program logos mean? (All-Star, Extra, Alliance)
These logos indicate which program and playing circuit the team is currently playing in.
- All-Star teams and tournament teams are selected by coaches and the post-season committee and compete in a series of tournaments and/or a Spring League program, while League Playoffs select the top core teams from a region for a competitive tournament. The Extra program offers a more competitive, year-round option.
- AYSO Extra is a competitive soccer program offered at the regional level for players wishing to take their game to a higher standard. Teams in the Extra program compete against other Regions throughout the Inland Empire and may also participate in tournaments across Southern California and neighboring states.
- AYSO Alliance is club soccer - a competitive soccer program designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills and abilities and to enhance each player's experience and individual growth through the game of soccer while retaining the spirit and organization of AYSO. Teams in the Alliance program compete in club leagues in Southern California and both AYSO and open club tournaments.
Tryout Details - What should we bring & when should we arrive?
Please plan a few extra minutes for drop-off and pick-up so we can safely manage player entry/exit. This page will be updated as additional divisions are scheduled or if changes are required.
- Sign up your player on the Tryout Sign-up Page. Players may only participate if their registration is complete before arriving.
- Arrive by the posted check-in time (recommend 15 minutes early).
- Wear proper soccer attire, including shin guards (required).
- Bring the correct size ball for your player's age/division.
- Bring water.
Do current players need to try out?
Yes. All players must attend tryouts each season, including currently rostered players.
Do I have to be a Region 76 player to attend?
No. Players may try out from outside Region 76, but a parent/guardian must have a user profile in our sign-up system to register.
The exception is for Post-Season tryouts. Only players registered in Region 76 in the Fall may participate in Post-Season tryouts.
When will we receive results?
We will communicate results several weeks after Round 2 concludes. Please do not contact us for results before then.
What is the Player Selection Process?
For details on the evaluation process and how teams are formed, please visit our Extra Player Selection Page or our Alliance Player Selection Page.
Can parents watch on the field?
No. Parents/spectators are not permitted on the field during evaluations. Please remain outside the field area. Besides, the players perform better when parents are not watching.
