Step 2: Make Sure You're in the Right Place
Region 76 serves Beverly Hills, bel air & the surrounding communities
We have an open registration policy and may accept players from anywhere in Southern California. However, practices and games are centered in Beverly Hills and may be inconvenient if you don’t live or go to school nearby.
Step 3: What Division am I In?
How do you determine a player's age?
AYSO will be transitioning to a school-year registration system beginning with the Fall 2026–2027 season. Under the school-year system, a player’s division is determined by their grade-level cohort, with eligibility based on whether the player is in the age range for that school year’s grade grouping. This means that players who are in the same grade at school will generally play in the same AYSO division, even if their birthdays fall in different months. This updated approach follows the new player-age guidelines adopted by U.S. Soccer and is intended to better align teams with school-based peer groups.
In what division will my child play?
AYSO Region 76 uses the school-year (August 1 – July 31) cutoff for player placement beginning with the Fall 2026–2027 Season.
can my player be moved up or down a division?
As a rule, AYSO does not allow move-downs to a division below a player’s age group. We may, on a case-by-case basis, consider move-down requests. Move-ups to the next division are generally allowed when appropriate for the player’s development but must also be reviewed and approved by the Region. All move-down and move-up requests must be made no later than July 31 in order to be considered. Please CLICK HERE to submit your request.
Step 4: Review Our Policies
We prohibit all jewelry for players of any age, including studs in newly pierced ears (or other body parts), friendship bands, bracelets, religious jewelry, and metal hair clips. We do not allow jewelry to be taped up. Medical alert bracelets are the only exception.
Requests & Team Assignments
Every year we receive numerous requests concerning team assignments. These requests are simple to make but they are not easy to grant. Our policies vary by age group to maintain fair, balanced teams.
Players 8–18 (9U–19U): Requests are not accepted
WE DO NOT ACCEPT REQUESTS. This policy applies to:
- Teammate requests (except age-appropriate requests for brothers/sisters or other children living in the same household)
- Co-coach requests (except when one coach is not a parent/guardian of a player in the division involved, or if we determine the pairing will not affect team balance)
- Carpool requests
Players 5–7 (6U–8U): Requests are considered, not guaranteed
We entertain requests but we do not guarantee that requests will be granted.
- We will not allow teams almost entirely made up of requests (e.g., all players from one school).
- We are much less likely to consider requests made after July 31, when teams have been formed.
Players 3–4 (4U–5U): Jamboree-style program
Our Playground (4U) and Schoolyard (5U) programs consist of skills training and short-sided scrimmages. Players are guided by our team of professional trainers and participate weekly “jamboree style.”
ALL PLAYERS
We do not accept conditional registrations (e.g., conditional on being on a specific team, with a particular player, or not practicing on a certain day). We will work with you on practice-time conflicts, but teams are formed before practice fields are assigned.
If you’d like to learn more about the reasons for these policies, visit our requests page (opens in a new tab).
Team assignments are made in August and you will be notified then. We reserve the right to adjust teams after the season begins if necessary to maintain balance.
Refunds
Our refund policy is posted online: Refund Policy.
Jewelry
We prohibit all jewelry for players of any age, including studs in newly pierced ears (or other body parts), friendship bands, bracelets, religious jewelry, and metal hair clips. We do not allow jewelry to be taped up. Medical alert bracelets are the only exception.
