Complete the Coach Certification
Each Division has unique coaching and player development needs and coaching certifications are not backwards-compatible. This means that a coach must be certified for each and every division for which they would like to coach and may not simply obtain the highest level coach certificate available to "cover" all of the lower divisions.
Coach Certification requirements by Division
6U Coach Certification
6U Coach Certification
6U Coach certification allows a volunteer to coach a team in Boys 6U or Girls 6U. 6U Coach certification requires ONLINE coach certification in addition to the standard mandated safety certifications required of every coach volunteer.
To complete your 6U Coach Certification, please follow the steps below:
- Log in to InLeague (ayso76.net/app) and click on "Users" in the navigation bar to the left. Click on "eTrainU" in the dropdown.
- Click on the green "Log into AYSOU (powered by eTrainU)" button.
- If this is your first time visiting eTrainU, check the box to accept the eTrainU terms and click "Submit".
- Click on "Training Library".
- Click on the "View Courses" button underneath "Coaches" in Course Categories.
- Click on the "Enroll" button underneath the course titled "6U Coach - Full Online Course".
- You will receive an email confirming that you have been registered for this course.
- Start and complete the modules, one by one, until you have completed all of the required sections. Be sure to complete and pass the Final Exam.
- Proceed to complete the Safe Haven Online Course.

8U Coach Certification
8U Coach Certification
8U Coach certification allows a volunteer to coach a team in Boys or Girls 7U or 8U. 8U Coach certification requires ONLINE coach certification in addition to the standard mandated safety certifications required of every coach volunteer.
To complete your 8U Coach Certification, please follow the steps below:
- Log in to InLeague (ayso76.net/app) and click on "Users" in the navigation bar to the left. Click on "eTrainU" in the dropdown.
- Click on the green "Log into AYSOU (powered by eTrainU)" button.
- If this is your first time visiting eTrainU, check the box to accept the eTrainU terms and click "Submit".
- Click on "Training Library".
- Click on the "View Courses" button underneath "Coaches" in Course Categories.
- Click on the "Enroll" button underneath the course titled "8U Coach - Full Online Course".
- You will receive an email confirming that you have been registered for this course.
- Start and complete the modules, one by one, until you have completed all of the required sections. Be sure to complete and pass the Final Exam.
- Proceed to complete the Safe Haven Online Course.

10U Coach Certification
10U Coach Certification
10U Coach certification allows a volunteer to coach a team in Boys or Girls 9U or 10U. For a 10U coach certification, a coach candidate may choose to attend either a "Full In-Person Course" or an "Online + In-Person Course" Please note that if you choose to sign up for and attend either of these courses, you must commit to attending and fulfilling the full requirements of that course.
To complete your 10U Coach Certification, please follow the steps below:
Full In-Person Course
Online + In-Person Course

- Click on the "Enroll" button underneath the course titled "10U Coach - Full In-Person Course".
- You will receive an email confirming that you have been registered for this course.
- The next step listed is called "In-Person Event". Click "Enroll Via Event" to locate and enroll in a local in-person portion of the course convenient for your schedule.
- Be sure to attend the In-Person course which you registered for in the previous Step. This is required for you to obtain a full coach certification.

12U Coach Certification
12U Coach certification allows a volunteer to coach a team in Boys or Girls 12U or 11U if a Region splits their 12U Division. For a 12U Coach certification, a coach candidate must take both an online portion of the course and an in-person / field portion. A candidate must commit to attending and fulfilling the full requirements of the course to obtain a 12U Coach Certification.
To complete your 12U Coach Certification, please follow the steps below:
- Log in to InLeague (ayso76.net/app) and click on "Users" in the navigation bar to the left. Click on "eTrainU" in the dropdown.
- Click on the green "Log into AYSOU (powered by eTrainU)" button.
- If this is your first time visiting eTrainU, check the box to accept the eTrainU terms and click "Submit".
- Click on "Training Library".

For a 14U Coach certification, a coach candidate must take both an online portion of the course and an in-person / field portion. A candidate must commit to attending and fulfilling the full requirements of the course to obtain an Intermediate Coach Certification.
To complete your Intermediate Coach Certification, please follow the steps below:

- Click on the green "Log into AYSOU (powered by eTrainU)" button.

- Click on the "Enroll" button underneath the course titled "14U Intermediate Coach - Online + In-Person Course".

16U / 19U (Advanced) Coach Certification
16U / 19U (Advanced) Coach Certification
16U / 19U Coach certification allows a volunteer to coach a team in Boys or Girls in any division AYSO offers older than 14U. The advanced Coach Certification is the highest level coach certificate that AYSO certifies. A coach candidate must take both an online portion of the course and an in-person / field portion. A candidate must commit to attending and fulfilling the full requirements of the course to obtain an Advanced Coach Certification.
To complete your Advanced Coach Certification, please follow the steps below:
- Log in to InLeague (ayso76.net/app) and click on "Users" in the navigation bar to the left. Click on "eTrainU" in the dropdown.
- Click on the green "Log into AYSOU (powered by eTrainU)" button.
