Volunteer Jobs
VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Coaches: In 2008, we expect to have 186 teams: 32 in Division U6, 47 in Division U8, 56 in Division U10, 26 in Division U12, 17 in Division U14, 6 in Division U16 and 2 in Division U19. Every team needs a head coach and, if possible, an assistant coach. The teams play every Saturday or Sunday and all except the U6 teams practice once during the week after school. For the younger players, coaches do not need to know too much about soccer but if they do not they must take the time to learn. Check out our coach page and contact our Coach Administrator for more information on clinics and other information on coaching.
Refereess: We must have one referee and two assistant referees for every Division U19, U16, U14, U12 and U10 game. We also have single referees with limited responsibilities in every U8A game. Check out the referee page for more information about refereeing and you can also contact our Referee Administrator, .
Referee Schedulers: We need schedulers for Divisions U14, U12 and U10 to help schedule our referees. Contact our Referee Administrator, .
Team Administrators: Every team needs an administrator. That means we need 186 of you! The administrator's job is to handle a lot of communications between the program (Board, Division Director, coach) and the teams. The job includes updating the team roster and distributing it to parents (and to the Division Director), organizing snacks, drinks and ice at games and practices, publicizing events such as Picture Day and Championship Day, organizing team sweatshirts, and organizing a party for the team at the end of the season. It's a job that can be shared, which really cuts down on the phone calls.
We also need help with a host of other jobs. In brief, these include:
Helping at Picture Day: Putting together the team name boards, getting teams organized and helping check teams in.
Field Set-up: Our fields are mostly set up by the Parks and Recreation Department or the School District, who control our fields. However, we do need help at several of our fields each weekend.
Once again, here's how to contact us:
Coaches, contact Coach Administrator .
Referees, contact Referee Administrator .
