2005 Season Message
Dear AYSO Families:
The Fall 2005 season is off and running and we hope you are having fun and enjoying another year of soccer, Beverly Hills-style. We have some important announcements for you. Please take a moment to read through this email.
- Referees needed
BH Community Center Survey - AYSO Day (September 24) with Chivas USA
- Rally for park space in Marina del Rey
- VIP soccer programs for special needs players
Referees Needed
We are still looking for more referee volunteers. Remember, your team's participation in playoffs depends on your team earning 18 volunteer points this season. Visit our referee pages and find out how you can enjoy the best seat in the house or contact Mike Karon at referee@ayso76.org.
Survey on the Beverly Hills Community Recreation Center
Please take the City of Beverly Hills Community Center survey. The City continues to seek community input via an on-line survey posted on the City’s website. The survey will assist the City in obtaining suggestions, criticisms, and thoughts concerning the proposed Community Recreation Center. Everyone can participate in planning this center, which is still at the conceptual stage. The City Council truly wants to hear from you and as many community members as possible.
For those families that have taken the survey, thank you. For those that have not (one per family), please visit this page and click on the link you will find there. Copies of the survey may also be obtained by calling the Recreation and Parks Department at (310) 285-2537.
AYSO Day (September 24) at the Home Depot Center
Major League Soccer team Chivas USA would like all of the AYSO volunteers to
participate during AYSO Day, and to make it easier to attend it has lowered

More Park Space is Desperately Needed - How You Can Help
Park space is in short supply throughout Area 1-P, to which our region belongs. So when a once in a generation opportunity comes along to add more park space, we need to seize it.
The Postal Service facility at 13051 Jefferson Boulevard has been closed.
The fate of this 20-acre property will be determined in the next few months!
Parents, bring your children in sports uniforms and ATTEND THE RALLY FOR DEL REY
PARK, THIS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH 4-6PM at the US Postal Service Site at 13051
Jefferson Blvd, Corner of Jefferson Blvd & Alla Rd (Adjacent to Home Depot).
For more information visit
www.DelReyPark.com.
Do You Know A Player with Special Needs?
Our region does all it can to accommodate players with special needs and to integrate them into our regular program. But for some, the regular program is too intense or too challenging. For players age 4 and up (no upper age limit) with significant physical or emotional challenges, AYSO Region 69 in Pacific Palisades is operating a VIP (Very Important Player) Program. VIP player disabilities include (but are not limited to) those who are or have:
- Blind or Visually Impaired
- Amputees or Conditions that Impair Mobility
- Mentally or Emotionally Challenged
- Autistic
- Downs Syndrome
- Cerebral Palsy
For more information on participation for players and volunteers, contact Kathy Slattery 310-459-2552 or katslat@yahoo.com. More information is on the attached flyer.
